Broadband Telephone Service - Cheap, easy to set up, excellent customer service. Packet8 allows anyone with broadband (high-speed) Internet access to use their regular phone to make UNLIMITED calls to anywhere in the U.S. and Canada for a cheap monthly flat fee. You order the service, and they send you a special modem. You plug it into your broadband cable via a router (also cheap, found in any Radio Shack store or from Packet8). You then plug in your regular telephone to this special modem. Takes five minutes to set up. It doesn't affect your computer in any way, and your computer does not have to be turned on to use the service. Really!
A good place to buy parts on the fly, especially when you need that XLR-to-6.35-to-3.5mm adaptor on a Sunday afternoon. Thoughtfully located next to every store that your wife goes to that you can't stand. On-line catalog. Fairly decent microphones.
WOW! The signal is Clear! In my "Technical" opinion-- Sirius has superior reception over the 'other guys', as they use a 'figure-8' overhead pattern for their satellites, as opposed to fixed satellite over the Equator.--The 'figure-8 pattern that Sirius utilizes gives what is known in Tech terms as a better 'squint angle'. As you go further North, satellites parked over the equator (which is what the 'other guys' have are going to 'appear' lower and lower on the horizon. This is not a good thing..Things like trees will start to get between your receiver and the satellite.
AND, in one of the best technological twists ever, Sirius also rebroadcasts PODCASTERS(!) over their "Sirius Stars Channel 103" each and every day! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

A cell phone company that actually builds enough towers so their customers actually can get a dial tone, as opposed to CLOWNS that sell millions of phones and don't bother to build enough towers to support the network. Your Verizon phone also works in Canada without receiving goofy recordings in French about how the service won't work there without calling ANOTHER number so they can also charge your credit card.
